Fans of Defiance have reason to celebrate, as the beloved F2P shooter has officially returned. While the game faced its fair share of struggles in the past, its comeback after four years brings a renewed sense of excitement. Naturally, a relaunch of this scale doesn’t come without a few bumps—technical glitches were expected, and they’ve been showing up over the past two weeks since the game went live again.
Fortunately, the developers appear to be fully committed to improving the experience. According to an update posted on the official Discord (and shared by MassivelyOP), the team has already resolved several major problems, including login errors and server disconnections. While a few bugs are still lingering, active progress is being made.
Defiance Will Offer Free DLC and Cosmetic Store Items
Beyond bug fixes, the devs are also changing how downloadable content works in Defiance. In the near future, all gameplay-related DLC will be made available for free, with the in-game store focusing solely on cosmetic items. This shift will begin as early as next week with the release of the first free DLC since the relaunch.
The developers also acknowledged that some scheduled content previously in the game is currently missing, but they assured players that plans are in place to restore it. With transparency, ongoing updates, and a player-focused approach, Defiance seems to be heading in a promising direction.
