Palia has been making waves in the “comfortable MMO” sphere for some time now. Just last week, my eldest son became a fan. The game is being updated frequently and it’s doing a great job in handling player feedback.
And the next major move? Being bought out, it seems.
The baton of Singularity 6, the creators of Palia, has now been handed over to Daybreak Game Company, thereby becoming part of the ENAD Global 7 group. A Singularity 6 announcement acknowledges that this might induce some apprehension among the players. Daybreak, despite managing EverQuest, LOTRO, and other such games, and being well-established, doesn’t exactly enjoy a stellar reputation among its users.
Yet, Singularity 6 seems thrilled about the acquisition. “With this buyout, we’re gaining a wealth of resources and support to keep cultivating Palia, and raise the bar to the level our players anticipate, including compelling new content, poignant social aspects and overall improvements in the player’s experience,” shares the team.
Still managed by its founders, Singularity 6 assures that it will retain its autonomy. The fans can look forward to the team’s initial vision for the game directing its future development.
