Camelot Unchained drops an ‘early access teaser’ trailer that confirms early access in 2025

Camelot Unchained Teaser: Early Access Confirmed for 2025!

Remember Camelot Unchained? After Unchained Games took the game offline for a significant overhaul earlier this year, the team suggested that an early access launch was still possible before the end of 2025. With the game’s history, that promise might have been met with skepticism. But now, Unchained has released an “early access teaser” video, reaffirming their commitment to launching in early access within the year!

Check out the teaser below:

The video description explains: “Please enjoy this video teasing some of what’s coming to Camelot Unchained in the near future! In Camelot Unchained, three realms battle for control over resources, dominance on the battlefield, and eternal glory. Please note that all footage shown represent a work in progress which is subject to change.” The teaser culminates with a slide stating that early access is still slated for 2025:

But the updates don’t stop there! Unchained Games also streamed a behind-the-scenes look at the game’s development. This time, environment artist Aaron Newton took the reins for his first solo stream, diving deep into the world of environment art. You can check out the VOD here: This time around

Newton’s stream focused on visual updates to buildings, mining nodes, and textures. He provided detailed insights into his process, the tools he uses, and how he creates these assets. He even demonstrated how he puts together a wall piece from scratch!

The stream concluded with a glimpse at human and Tuathan chapels Newton helped create, though time constraints cut this section short. While not revealing specific gameplay details or dates, the stream offered a fascinating look at “The Process” of creating the game’s world. If that piques your interest, you can watch the full VOD below.

MMORPG Camelot Unchained, Kickstarted in 2013, has a complex history, marked by delays, the launch and sunset of a spin-off title using *CU’s* engine, and refund drama. The game entered “beta one” in 2018, even showcasing 3000 players and bots in a single battle. However, it has been unavailable to testers since 2024. As of 2025, Unchained Games is targeting early access for the end of this year. Will they make it?
