While the recent focus on the blockchain survival sandbox EVE Frontier has been its partnership for its blockchain element, there’s also news on the actual gameplay front. CCP Games has announced that the next closed test build will arrive on **Wednesday, October 15th**! Check out the official announcement.
Cycle 3 promises a suite of updates. Players can expect to see two new ships and two new PvE regions to explore. Industrial sites will now continue production as long as they remain powered. Characters will now be able to select where they respawn after death. There will also be a limited-time test of WASD controls, a PvP tournament, and base-building updates leveraging the game’s new placement freedom. CCP confirmed a free test access period will run from October 17th to October 27th.
Beyond Cycle 3, Frontier developers have provided a roadmap for the next three tests. Cycle 4 (December) will bring ship control overhauls, the first pass at character progression, and more distinct ship roles. Cycle 5 (March) aims to overhaul travel, implement base attack and defense mechanics, and migrate to the Sui blockchain. Cycle 6, currently slated for June, has no details available yet.
Over in EVE Online, the list of candidates for the 20th Council of Stellar Management has been finalized. As previously detailed, the campaign phase runs until October 26th, followed by voting from October 27th to November 10th.
Finally, the EVE Online team has released videos discussing this year’s Crimson Harvest event and the Alliance Tournament PvP event finale. The EVE Vanguard devs have also put out a video about bug squashing.
