The ongoing wildfires in California continue to cause unprecedented damage and disrupt lives, especially in Southern California. Numerous organizations and corporates have stepped up offering their resources, funds, and time to help in the recovery process, with the latest to join this initiative being the World of Warcraft’s creator, Blizzard.
In a recent tweet, Blizzard, which has its roots in Southern California, announced their contribution of $1 million to Direct Relief. The why behind the donation is to bolster Direct Relief’s efforts in providing instantaneous and long-term relief and resources to those impacted, community health centers, and first responders.
Direct Relief, apart from providing global humanitarian aid, has also been actively collaborating with local health centers and clinics in California to provide medical assistance and supplies to the affected residents. As stated on the Direct Relief website, funds raised for the wildfire response will be completely employed in serving relief efforts for individuals hit by fires in Palisades, Altadena, and other parts of California.
If you also wish to lend a helping hand, donations can be made on their official website.
As stated in their comprehensive blog post, we stand with Blizzard asserting, “Our hearts remain with those affected, both in the immediate need for relief and the continuing journey toward long-term recovery.”
