Prepare for another exhilarating Hearthstone esports season. Today, Blizzard shared their plans for the card game‘s Year of the Raptor, featuring three broadcast events— two Masters Tour Championships and the World Championship. However, the season’s focus will be slightly shifted to provide players with new pathways to enter these events.
The revamped system aims to accommodate players of all skill levels. They have three qualification periods – Spring, Summer, and Last Chance. Spring occurs in March and April, Summer in June and July, and the Last Chance qualifiers are in September and October. The top performers in each session will secure an invite to the World Championships.
There are now two gateways to qualification. Players can compete on the Ranked ladder or participate in the newly introduced open qualifier events held during each qualification period. Those who triumph and land among the top four in these qualifiers get a direct pass to the Masters Tour Playoffs.
More detailed information about the new system, important dates for the events, and other relevant info can be found in the post on the Hearthstone site.
