Who in the heck is Allan Serbin? Apparently someone in Black Desert Console who’s so good at painting that it opens literal worlds for players to plumb. That appears to be the synopsis for one of the tentpole features of the MMORPG’s latest patch, which introduces Allan Serbin’s Landscape gameplay.
To be clear, these aren’t all-new zones necessarily; they’re adjusted versions of existing monster zones already in-game, only with changes to loot tables that let players gather goodies that were once exclusive to specific monster zones in entirely different regions. Players will need to gather a paint resource from the original monster zones in order to enter these Landscape variants, but hopefully the chase for specific loot will become easier as a result.
On top of the Landscape feature, the latest BDO Console patch applies a huge assortment of changes for various classes, a new XP-boosting crystal that can be slotted into high-level lifeskill gear, a new mythical horse, and a lineup of adjustments for the Node and Conquest War’s tiers and participation limits.
Over on the PC version, there’s also a lengthy lineup of class changes, some tweaks to the Throne of Edana boss encounter in Edania including increased registration timing and changes to the fight’s battle arena, a few minor but important changes to certain boss fights, and some relocation for Node and Conquest War fort locations. There’s also some map UI improvements and a pair of events that bring lifeskill XP hot time and login rewards.
Finally over on BDO Mobile, the auto-hunt zones have seen some adjustments, primarily in the form of Adventuring Fervor, a resource that gradually builds and can be spent while a character is auto-hunting to ramp up XP, rewards, and certain types of quest progression. In addition, loot drops from all hunting zones will be immediately available instead of at the post-encounter spoils of war screen, and specific zones have seen their loot tables adjusted. Other features for the mobile version include a new Nightmare region and changes to Nightmare area loot, revamps for timing and item drops in Night of Vengeful Souls and Black Sun instances, and the addition of chaos-grade gear to the season pass rewards pool, among other things.
