The game BitCraft Online officially entered Early Access on June 21, priced at $30, inviting gamers to discover the expansive world of Starfell.
Clockwork Labs expressed their appreciation for the community’s participation in this sandbox MMORPG, noting that it will transition to a free-to-play model upon its official launch. Despite some performance challenges, the team is diligently working to resolve them.
On day one, players faced various issues, including server instability, login problems, and content glitches. The developers focused on addressing server performance issues that led to disconnections and subpar gameplay responsiveness, while also planning to resolve onboarding bugs, client performance problems such as memory leaks and frame rate drops, as well as enhancing user experience. They also indicated their intent to balance gameplay elements, specifically making player-created towns more competitive against existing ruined towns.
By the second day, the team reported substantial progress in remedying server-related issues that had caused noticeable lag, freezes, and disconnections. They pinpointed four primary concerns—ranging from inefficient database queries initiated by UI windows, crashes within the AI system managing creatures, excessive logging that hindered resources, to a rushed code version choice affecting performance. After implementing the latest updates and fixes, server stability saw marked improvements.
While client-side issues persist, solutions and bug fixes are underway.
