Baron Samedi and Yemoja join Smite 2 Lineup Despite Paladins’ Layoffs and Concerns

The game Smite 2 welcomes two additional deities to its closed alpha suite. Baron Samedi from the Voodoo Pantheon and Yemoja from the Yoruba Pantheon are displayed in Closed Alpha 3. Varied skills such as crowd control, healing, and damage over time are exhibited by Baron Samedi, The God of Life and Death, whereas Yemoja, The Goddess of Rivers, employs a distinctive resource called Omi to initiate spells related to water.

Alongside the unveiling of new deities, the recent Closed Alpha update also introduces features designed to simplify the MOBA for novices. The update includes brief instructional videos and guides for the Arena and Conquest gaming formats. As progress continues, more guides are expected to be added.

These enhancements coincide with the company’s announcement of job cuts affecting marketing and publishing sectors significantly and a greater emphasis on SMITE 2. Meanwhile, Kryptek, Paladins’ associate game designer, has made statements about the future plans for the Paladins team, whilst the apprehensions of players continue to grow regarding the game’s prospective course.
