Arena Breakout: Infinite Locks In September 15 Steam Release

MoreFun Studios has announced that Arena Breakout: Infinite will officially launch on Steam on September 15th, leaving its Early Access phase behind. This free-to-play tactical extraction shooter, initially popular on mobile platforms, is now poised for a full PC release after attracting over two million Steam wishlists. The game is both developed and published by Morefun Studios, a subsidiary of the prominent Chinese tech corporation, Tencent.

The extraction shooter genre has seen significant growth in popularity ever since Escape from Tarkov established the core principles of risk-and-reward gameplay. Arena Breakout: Infinite aligns with this model: players enter a PvPvE environment, gather resources, and then attempt to extract themselves before being eliminated by other players or AI patrols. MoreFun states that the launch version includes a rebalancing of high-tier loot and the complete removal of any form of paid power, a decision likely intended to reassure fans of the genre who value a fair and balanced playing field.

Arena Breakout: Infinite Key Features / Updates

  • Five playable maps: Farm, Valley, Armory, TV Station, and Northridge, each featuring a dynamic weather system that introduces the possibility of severe storms.
  • Expanded Farm: New areas such as the Grain Trading Zone and Stables offer additional combat scenarios and loot routes.
  • Game modes: Normal, Lockdown, Forbidden across multiple difficulty settings, complemented by a highly requested Solo Mode and limited-time events.
  • Trophy Room overhaul: The player hideout now features an Intelligence Department, Living Area, and Workbench. Top-tier ammunition and equipment must now be crafted within the hideout rather than purchased directly.
  • Three extra firearms: The PP19, CZ807, and AN94 expand the existing arsenal to 72 guns and 881 attachments, alongside 40 new tactical accessories.
  • New medical items: The Experimental Physique Enhancing Pill and Battlefield First Aid Kit Set provide players with more diverse survival options.
  • Supply Stations: Kiosks located throughout the maps allow players to acquire certain resources during raids.
  • Item balance tweaks: High-end ammo and armor are now exclusively available within raids or through crafting, diminishing their dominance in the market.
  • Free Titanium Case: A secure nine-slot container, obtainable through seasonal missions, provides all players with a substantial safety net without requiring any financial investment.
  • No pay-to-win economy: Premium currency (Koens) cannot be purchased with real money, addressing a common concern within free-to-play shooter games.

Arena Breakout initially launched on mobile devices in 2023 and rapidly garnered a considerable following due to its impactful gunplay and immersive audio design. The PC version aims to directly compete with established titles in the genre, such as Escape from Tarkov and Dark and Darker, while offering a free-to-play model and leveraging Tencent’s robust infrastructure.
