This morning at 11 AM Pacific Time, Respawn initiated a matchmaking trial in Apex Legends. The aim of this test is to enhance skill distribution within the F2P team shooter‘s Ranked matches, limiting Masters and Predators to players ranked Diamond 1 and above.
This adjustment appears to be a response to community requests, recognized as “one of the most frequently asked for changes to Ranked.” Consequently, the developers are conducting this test simultaneously across all regions and platforms, monitoring player feedback closely. It’s important to note that such changes may lead to player experiences that are less favorable; as mentioned in the announcement on Steam, this adjustment could result in extended wait times for higher-ranked matches. If that occurs, the trial could conclude earlier than planned.
If the test proves successful, it should make gameplay more engaging for players and might motivate a greater number of players to participate in Ranked matches.
