Sea of Thieves digests seasonal survey results, readies Halloween-themed boost weekend

Sea of Thieves: Seasonal Survey Results & Halloween Boost Weekend!

The developers over at Sea of Thieves have recently wrapped up their “Season 16 Big Listen.” This involved surveying players to gather feedback on the previous season. They’ve now compiled the results and shared their key takeaways.

The overall player rating for Season 16 landed at 6 out of 10. Rare acknowledged this wasn’t outstanding, but also not terrible. The summonable mercenary skeletons introduced this season received positive feedback, despite some initial confusion on how to utilize them. However, the season’s voyages were less well-received. Player concerns regarding game health, cheating, and toxic behavior were reflected in low scores, while the studio’s communication efforts were praised.

The survey highlighted the top five features players are eager to see in future updates. Ranked in order of importance, these include: new world regions, more narrative content, new ship types, new world events, and additional sandbox mechanics. While concrete details on upcoming content are still under wraps, Rare has promised further announcements during a broadcast scheduled for early 2026. They also plan to conduct another survey to delve deeper into player experiences with toxicity.

To celebrate Halloween, this weekend sees a special “Festival of the Damned-flavored twist” on the Gold & Glory event. From October 31st to November 3rd, pirates can expect boosted gold, renown, allegiance, and reputation gains. Additionally, a recent patch implemented various fixes and adjustments for Act 3 of the current season. Have a spooky weekend on the seas!
