Arena Breakout: Infinite, the tactical extraction shooter from MoreFun Studios (a Tencent subsidiary), has officially launched on Steam and the Epic Games Store. After months of closed testing, the game is now free-to-play on PC, joining the ranks of popular “loot, extract, survive” games like Escape from Tarkov.
According to the studio, this full release emphasizes improvements to polish, a wider variety of maps, and enhanced anti-cheat measures. Furthermore, the removal of real-money currency purchases aims to create a fairer in-raid economy, free from pay-to-win mechanics. Initial player response appears positive, with the game reaching over 28,000 concurrent players on Steam shortly after launch.
Key features of the launch include:
- Five diverse maps: Farm, Valley, Armory, TV Station, and Northridge, each featuring a dynamic weather system.
- Multiple game modes: Solo, Lockdown, and Forbidden modes with varying difficulty levels.
- Expanded Trophy Room: New areas for intelligence gathering, living quarters, and crafting, unlocking rare ammunition and gear.
- New arsenal: PP-19, CZ-807, and AN-94 weapons, along with 40 new attachments, expanding the total accessory count to over 880.
- Farm map overhaul: The Grain Trading Zone and Stables have been added for improved flanking opportunities.
- New tactical items: An Experimental Physique Pill and a Battlefield First Aid Kit.
- In-raid supply stations: Limited gear can now be purchased during raids from these on-map locations.
- Fair-play enhancements: High-tier ammo removed from the player market, larger secure containers earned through missions, and the removal of real-money purchases for the in-game Koen currency.
MoreFun is celebrating the launch with a “Full Release Showdown” featuring popular streamers like Shroud, Summit1g, LVNDMARK, TeePee, and Scump, along with Twitch Drops that reward players with weapon skins and streamer-branded stickers. However, the main attraction is the now-available PC version, offering a competitive alternative to Tarkov-style shooters without any upfront cost.
Arena Breakout: Infinite originated as a mobile project before evolving into a PC-focused spin-off last year. Its launch marks the studio’s entry into the increasingly competitive extraction shooter market, striving to balance hardcore gunplay with accessible progression systems – a formula that, when executed effectively, can keep players invested raid after raid.
