Genshin Impact Update Addresses Old & New Player Concerns

Earlier today, HoYoverse broadcasted a new Genshin Impact Special Program live stream. This one is distinct from the usual Special Programs, prompting a change in the Version naming convention. Instead of a version number, it’s designated Version “Luna I,” focusing on the moon(s) as we journey to Nod-Krai.

The developers covered a substantial amount of information in this Special Program, starting slightly early and lasting for an hour and a half. As noted in the video below’s runtime of one hour and 43 minutes, the broadcast concluded with a tl;dw summary segment.

Naturally, the primary focus remains on the action RPG’s forthcoming story content and characters. Our destination is Nod-Krai, along with everyone else. We will encounter both familiar and new faces, including Lauma, Flins, and Aino, who will join us on our adventures. Specifically, Aino will join our party immediately upon meeting her, free of charge, without the need for wishing. Prepare for your first claymore-wielding Hydro character.

Lauma, a member of the Frostmoon Scions, will be featured on the first wish banner alongside Nahida. Additionally, a Sumeru-themed Chronicled Wish banner will be available for those seeking more characters from the Sumeru region. The second banner will highlight Flins and Yelan and offer an increased drop rate for Aino.

Genshin Impact Version Luna I Event

Given the upcoming anniversary, players can anticipate a variety of rewards, including Primogems, Intertwined Fate, a special pet, and more. Free 5-star characters will also be distributed.

Regarding optimizations, with the release of Luna I, collecting oculi, activating shrines of depths, and completing other content will grant Adventure EXP. Furthermore, “Test Runs” (allowing players to trial specific characters) will now automatically reward players when characters with previously completed test runs appear in the lineup, eliminating the need to repeat the tutorial. Battle Passes will also offer harvestable rewards, and the difficulty of open-world enemies and certain Domains has been reduced.

Adjustments have been made to the artifact system, simplifying the process for players to determine whether to keep an artifact. Tracking collectibles will also be easier, as players can upgrade the Treasure Compass to locate items in Nod-Krai. The method of claiming bonus rewards has been improved.

A minor change has been implemented for Domains: those linked to 5-star characters or weapons with drop rate boosts will remain open daily for the first seven days of the boost, allowing unlimited farming for necessary materials.

Regarding 5-star characters, upon reaching the maximum constellation level, additional constellations will be converted into Masterless Stella Fortuna, which can be used to push characters past the level cap to 100. This change is retroactive, dating back to launch, meaning players who inadvertently acquired maxed-out 5-star characters will receive Masterless Stella Fortuna for each instance.
