Path of Exile 2: Free Weekend & Third Edict Update!

Grinding Gear Games is celebrating the launch of Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict with a special Free Weekend campaign. The event runs from August 29 through September 1 at 1 PM (PDT), offering players on all platforms—PC, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store—the first chance to jump into the free-to-play ARPG without an Early Access key.

Free Weekend Rewards

Players can earn exclusive rewards both in-game and through community engagement.

• In-game rewards: Unlock the Exile’s Hood, Exile’s Staff, and Exile’s Cloak by completing early quests.
• Twitch Drops: Earn items like the Clam Stash Skin, Abyssal Helmet, Abyssal Cape, and the Storm of Valako Portal effect by watching participating streamers. Subscribers can also get a special Chaos Orb Twitch chat badge.
• Discord reward: Play for at least 15 minutes during the first week to unlock the Eye of Prophecy Discord Avatar.

The Third Edict Expansion

The new expansion introduces significant changes and new content to the game.

• Act Four: The Karui Archipelago: A new region with over 16 zones, 100+ new monsters, and 12 challenging bosses.
• Streamlined progression: The traditional difficulty levels have been replaced by three interlude story acts, providing a smoother path to the endgame.
• Abyssal League: This new league features fissures of horror, a new pinnacle boss, and exclusive crafting mechanics.
• Build diversity: The Support Gem rework and the addition of 40 Lineage Support Gems provide more options for character builds.
• Asynchronous trade: Players can now buy items without needing the seller to be online.

The expansion also includes numerous quality-of-life updates, such as a sprint feature, improved crafting, and balance adjustments. The endgame has been expanded with 25 new maps, powerful monster variants, and Uber boss encounters.
