Survivors and releases more info on MMO mobile the division resurgence

Ubisoft thrilled fans of the iconic The Division franchise at Gamescom 2025 with two major announcements. First, The Division 2: Survivors, a survival experience with extraction elements, was officially revealed. This project is part of the ongoing support for The Division 2 since its initial release.

The Division 2: Survivors is currently in early development, led by Magnus Jansén, a franchise veteran since the first title, as creative director. Ubisoft emphasizes open communication with the community throughout development, encouraging player participation in the creation process. Julian Gerighty, executive producer of the series, is also overseeing The Division 3, though concrete details about that title are still scarce.

The announcements didn’t stop there! We also learned more about The Division Resurgence, a free-to-play MMO exclusive for mobile devices. Resurgence takes place in Manhattan, a few months after the events of the first game. The game aims to deliver the same core gameplay experience as the series, adapted for smartphones, while expanding the lore with new narrative arcs bridging The Division 1 and The Division 2.
