Wuthering Waves 2.6: Story, Sanguis Plateaus, and Flight

Kuro Games has detailed the content of Wuthering Waves Version 2.6, “By
Sun’s Scourge, By Moon’s Revelation,” launching on August 28. This update
to the free-to-play mobile action RPG, praised for its dynamic combat and
open, post-apocalyptic setting, will expand the main story, introduce a
new region, and enable players to glide freely in Jinzhou and Black
Shores.

The announcement was made during a preview livestream, which also unveiled
two new five-star Resonators and a range of quality-of-life
improvements. Here’s a summary of the key additions and changes:

  • Main quests – Chapter II continues with Acts VIII and
    IX, titled “By Sun’s Burning Hand” and “By Moon’s Fated Light.”
  • New region – Sanguis Plateaus, a crimson-colored zone
    filled with new Echoes and secrets to discover.
  • Two new ResonatorsAugusta is the
    featured character in Phase I of the banner, while Iuno
    headlines Phase II. Each banner will also include signature weapons.
  • Fresh Echoes – New creatures such as The False
    Sovereign, Lady of the Sea, and “Nightmare” variants, plus two Phantom
    Echoes, are being added.
  • Sonata effects – Crown of Valor and Law of Harmony add
    new set bonuses focused on shield and heavy-attack builds.
  • Tactical Hologram: Lady of the Sea – A new challenging
    combat encounter for players who have been participating in sim battles.
  • Events – Includes area exploration, tower-defense,
    photo challenges, and a seven-day login campaign with 10 Radiant Tide
    and 10 Forging Tide pulls.
  • Flight overhaul – Gliding can now be initiated with a
    single button press anywhere in open space, removing the need to climb.
  • Exploration tools – Mineral nodes will now be displayed
    on the map, and creature tracking has been expanded to Viewpoints,
    Blobflies, and Frostbugs.
  • Permanent modes refreshed – Hazard Tower gets Floors 3
    and 4, while Whimpering Wastes gets a “Burning Waves” mechanic tied to
    combat momentum.
  • Interface upgrades – One-click reward claiming, new PC
    keyboard shortcuts, and a dedicated weapon tab in the Gallery.
  • Graphics options – Added support for AMD FSR 3, Intel
    XeSS 2, and Nvidia DLSS 4 with up to 4× frame generation on supported
    cards.
