If you requested time off for Ship of Heroes’ originally scheduled August 18th debut, you might want to adjust your plans—Heroic Games has announced a short delay.
In a late-night forum update, the studio shared: “We’ve been informed that Steam’s approval process may extend until August 21st, pushing our launch back slightly. While this is beyond our control, we’re taking this opportunity to conduct additional server testing beginning tonight at midnight. Servers will remain offline until launch day. Stay tuned for further updates.”
The developers later clarified via Discord that final pricing details remain pending Steam’s confirmation of their subscription model, though they noted: “We’re aiming for a Thursday, August 21st launch. While we’ve shared general pricing ranges previously, specifics will be finalized once Steam approves our subscription structure.”
“Just to be clear, we are targeting a launch on Thursday the 21st. Most of you have a pretty good idea what the price is, in a range. We’re not defining that any further until Steam tells us we have approval to launch with a subscription model.”
This setback follows MOP’s recent analysis of the game’s potential in today’s superhero MMO landscape, published just days before the delay announcement.
