Skyforge, a no-cost sci-fi MMORPG that debuted in July 2015, is set to close its doors after over ten years of operation.
Publisher MY.GAMES and operator Innova/4game have announced that the game’s “rightholder” has chosen to end the project across all platforms. The European and American PC servers will be terminated on September 3, followed by the console servers on October 29.
After the shutdown, player accounts for Skyforge will be inaccessible, and the game’s social media accounts will be deactivated. However, 4game and Steam accounts will still be available for use with other games. In preparation for the closure, in-game purchases through 4game and Steam have been disabled, preventing any new microtransactions.
The developers plan to host a celebratory farewell before the closure. A final patch will introduce three thrilling weeks of farewell events, featuring the return of classic outfits, generous daily login bonuses in the form of argents (to purchase those outfits), the “Everything Comes to an End” achievement, and the revival of the Summer Breeze event. This concluding season will center around the Mechanoid invasion, offering players one last grand-scale challenge.
