Guild Wars 2 Unveils Its Last Three “Visions of Eternity” Elite Specs with varying focuses

ArenaNet has revealed the final three elite specializations for Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, the upcoming expansion for the long-running MMO. As with previous expansions, these specializations introduce new mechanics, weapons, and traits to existing professions. This announcement completes the set of nine new elite specializations, offering fresh gameplay options for the elementalist, engineer, and revenant.

Elite specializations, first introduced in Heart of Thorns (2015), significantly alter the playstyle of each class. Visions of Eternity is scheduled for release on October 28th, and a public beta will be held from August 20-27, allowing players to test and provide feedback on these new specializations.

A Quick Look at the New Elite Specs

  • Evoker (Elementalist) – Forms a bond with elemental animal companions (familiars). Using the F5 key summons a familiar (fox, otter, hare, or toad) tied to the selected element, reducing that element’s attunement cooldown. Familiars have basic and empowered attacks that charge up as you use corresponding weapon skills.
  • Amalgam (Engineer) – Bonds with a shapeshifting ooze known as “mercurial mold.” Standard toolbelt skills are replaced by customizable morph abilities, allowing the slime to form shields, spikes, or weapons. The elite skill, Evolve, temporarily fuses the engineer and mold, granting bonuses based on the selected morphs.
  • Conduit (Revenant) – Channels the long-lost Mists entity Razah, providing a single, versatile legend instead of the usual two. A new resource called affinity extends the duration of the Cosmic Wisdom power-up. Conduits also unlock Legendary Entity Stance, which provides additional effects if a related legend is slotted in the other slot.

This announcement follows earlier reveals for the mesmer, ranger, guardian, thief, necromancer, and warrior. With all the elite specializations now revealed, the community anticipates the upcoming beta to shape the final versions.
