The highly anticipated Brazilian MMORPG Drakantos is set to take a significant step forward with the official launch of the Closed Beta on July 25, 2025. Developed by Wingon Studios, this project has captured the interest of the gaming community not just for its nostalgic appeal and impressive visuals, but also for its dedication to incorporating community feedback. This moment signifies the beginning of a new phase in the game’s development, and we here at the site couldn’t be more thrilled.
Along with sharing what to expect from this new phase, we also want to inform you that some of our partners at Playmmo will be conducting Early Access key giveaways for the Beta, providing more players the chance to explore this universe.
A MMORPG with Brazilian Soul
Drakantos is characterized as an isometric MMORPG featuring a high-quality 2D aesthetic, heavily inspired by classics such as Ragnarok Online, Tibia, and Tree of Savior. Its artistic design is colorful, vibrant, and entirely hand-drawn, offering a unique visual identity that nods to the golden age of classic MMOs while incorporating the fluidity and modernity of today’s games.
With an array of classes, promising progression systems, real-time combat, and a strong focus on PVE (with PVP to follow), the game has already garnered a highly engaged community since its initial alpha tests.

Closed Beta: What to Expect?
According to information shared by the team on the Official Game Page on Steam, this new Beta phase will focus on:
- Testing server infrastructure
- Enhancing class balance
- Assessing wide-scale gameplay stability
- Collecting player feedback on interface, UX, and overall performance
The content available during this phase will be limited but adequate to showcase the foundational structure of Drakantos’s world, including its initial progression systems, combat, exploration, and customization.
Tests will be accessible only to selected players invited directly by the development team or who obtained keys through partnerships.
The First 15 Heroes, representing the initial classes of the game, are as follows:
Heroes Available in the Closed Beta
- Liam – Versatile Melee Warrior
- Marly – Healer and Support Cleric
- Zeugladius – Ranged Archer
- Reya – Mage with Elemental Powers
- Yura – Strong, Defensive Tank
- Ojore, Thomas, Byron, Iris, Ozul, Faendar, Arryn, Orbbryn, Yuki, Korz
Each hero comes with its own gameplay style, skill tree, and unique backstory, providing varied experiences during the beta.
There’s no need to create multiple characters: once a hero is unlocked, players can freely switch between them on the same account, sharing hero items even if their levels and equipment differ. This encourages experimentation, allowing each player to discover their preferred style.

Key Giveaways with Playmmo Partners
We are excited to announce that some of our partners will be hosting Key Giveaways for the Closed Beta. Streamers Lestat and Shiyriu, members of the Playmmo community, will hold special broadcasts featuring exclusive content and access promotions for the game.
If you’d like to try your luck and dive into the Drakantos universe before its official launch, follow these creators’ streams. Not only will you have a chance to compete for keys, but you’ll also see the game in action.
Commitment to the Community
One of the most commendable aspects of Drakantos thus far has been the development team’s transparency. From initial development logs to videos shared on social media, the developers at Wingon Studios have shown a willingness to listen to suggestions and make adjustments based on community feedback.
This kind of healthy rapport between the community and developers is sadly rare in the current market—making it particularly exciting to see a Brazilian project embrace this approach.
A Personal Expectation
As someone who has followed the emergence of Drakantos since its early posts and concept art, I must say it is heartening to see the project evolve into a playable beta stage. Although I haven’t yet experienced the game directly, I’ve been invited to this testing phase and look forward to sharing my detailed impressions here on the site after the 25th.
My hopes rest on the game’s vision: to provide an accessible, nostalgic MMORPG while incorporating modern systems to ensure depth and longevity. The blend of classic elements with contemporary mechanics holds great potential to enchant both seasoned veterans and newcomers to the genre.
