As Trion’s pioneering voxel-based MMORPG Trove approaches its decade milestone on July 9th, 2025, current steward Gamigo is pulling out all stops for what’s promised to be the game’s most spectacular celebration. Kicking off today, the month-long Sunfest event brings new content across all platforms except Nintendo Switch, which will receive the update later.

“This anniversary edition reimagines the classic formula with a three-stage narrative unfolding weekly. Players will craft celebratory fireworks, prepare festive cakes, and combat shadow invaders disrupting the festivities. Each phase unlocks special rewards while advancing the seasonal storyline.”

Gamigo’s July community update reveals significant backend improvements alongside tempered expectations about future planning. While confirming completion of the server infrastructure overhaul, developers opted against detailed roadmaps:

“Our monthly communications will continue sharing near-term plans, but we’re avoiding concrete long-term commitments to prevent unmet expectations.” This conservative approach notably comes as the game maintains strong engagement metrics, with Gamico reporting consistent daily users in the tens of thousands and regular new player influx across all platforms.

Historical footnote: The article’s research resurfaced the decade-old “voxelbox” terminology that’s become synonymous with Trove’s unique aesthetic. The MMO’s enduring popularity (originally launched in 2015 after a 2014 beta) continues to surprise industry observers while justifying Gamico’s ongoing investment.
