Following a player survey in which the RuneScape community told Jagex that it needed to improve overall support for its two MMOs, the game studio announced earlier this year that it will be rolling out these changes over 2025, starting with chat spam reduction and notifications on actioned reports.
Now Jagex has sped up response times and “introduced a new centralised point of contact for all player support requests, with a phased release starting from the end of April.” Future work in this area include introducing live support chat for billing and help, account hijacking detection, improved ban appeals, and anti-cheat tech focused on real-world trading.
“We want to be open and realistic with you. Live chat is new to us, and we know implementing it fully will be a challenge,” the studio representatives said.
