January report reveals Star Citizen’s improvements on AI and mission preparations


Despite the month of February newly beginning and still gaining insight into the accomplishments of November and December, Star Citizen pushes forward with the monthly update for January. Full speed ahead, no slowing down.

The lion’s share of the report discusses various improvements and tools for NPC AI, such as enhanced creature behavior and an NPC prototype that blends several behavior styles. It also includes enhancements to StarScript and new technology for better navigation of NPCs and ships through bizarre geometries and narrow corners.

The report also reveals plans for the rest of the year, presenting details on debugging tool refinements to rule out incorrect positive results impacting the fixing of alpha 4.0 accurately, the development of undisclosed content to upgrade all mission quality as well as new resources and extra NPCs to broaden story prospects within the game.

Apart from that, SC has out a new version of the game launcher, which includes game installation management and numerous general bug fixes.
