Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.7 – ‘A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn’ Set to Launch on December 4

HoYoverse has announced the upcoming major update for Honkai: Star Rail, titled A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn and numbered Version 2.7. This patch, scheduled for release on December 4, 2024, concludes the Penacony storyline and teases the Astral Express’s journey towards Amphoreus, the Eternal Land. The update incorporates two fresh playable characters, exciting gameplay expansions and quality of life upgrades that offer players a mix of resolution and anticipation as the narrative progresses.

Departure from Penacony: The Last Chapter

The Astral Express is on the eve of its departure from Penacony. The team relives cherished moments and says goodbye to acquainted faces before their next venture. The update wraps Penacony’s storyline with touching moments and introduces two new 5-star characters, Sunday and Fugue, each equipped with unique backstories and game abilities.

• Sunday: As the imaginary 5-star support character, Sunday renounces his role as the leader of the Oak Family to experience mortal life. He provides combat boosts to his teammates, offering action enhancements, increased damage, and the “Beatified” status, which heightens the critical damage for the affected member and their summon.
• Fugue: Previously known as Tingyun, Fugue has been revived after a near-death scenario in earlier gameplay. She’s a 5-star character with fire abilities who excels in countering enemy’s Toughness and increasing team damage, making her a versatile character for any group.

Recurring Characters and Activities

For those who appreciate temporary characters, the warp event will feature the comeback of General Jing Yuan and Firefly. These characters pack a punch and give players the unique opportunity of recruiting influential allies.

The update also features the “Gift of the Express”, a special reward granting players a free selection of a regular 5-star character. This offer goes on until Version 3.2, ensuring plenty of time for Trailblazers to augment their teams.

Detailed Enhancements: The Celebration Carriage and Individual Suites

Version 2.7 not only brings new characters and battles but also enlarges the Astral Express itself:

• Path of Remembrance: Introduction of memosprites, new summonable allies that add a new layer of strategy to the gameplay.
