The anticipation for Grinding Gear Games’ upcoming Path of Exile installment is nearly over, especially for those who’ve invested in one of the action RPG’s range of supporter packs. A comprehensive livestream, providing details about what players can expect from the game, was broadcasted by the developer yesterday.
The livestream provides an all-encompassing overview, from class selection to endgame content. It’s conveniently segmented into chapters, so players can easily navigate to the specific information they need. However, committed Path of Exile players might be inclined to view the entire session.
Set two decades after the original, Path of Exile 2 tasks players with hunting down the Seed of Corruption and thwarting the Count of Ogham’s plans. As one would expect in the PoE universe, a variety of allies and adversaries will be met during their journey through Wraeclast.
Six classes will be playable at launch: Monk, Warrior, Ranger, Mercenary, Witch, and Sorceress. Of these, the Monk and Warrior are designed for melee gameplay with the Monk favoring rapid combat and the Warrior delivering powerful blows. Ranger and Mercenary provide range-based gameplay with the Mercenary tapping into different crossbow ammo types. Lastly, the Witch and the Sorceress cater to those who enjoy casting spells. Additional classes will be introduced over time.
In terms of endgame content, Path of Exile 2 presents as many as seven systems focusing on crafting, unique encounters, boss confrontations, and more. Advancing through the endgame will grant access to unique passive trees that tweak how endgame mechanics operate. A complete overview of all these features can be found in the video below. Also, take a look at the helpful FAQ compiled by the GGG team. Yes, the early access version features substantial endgame content.
If you’re interested but haven’t yet purchased a starter pack, there are seven different ones available, priced between $30 to $480. It’s worth noting that three of these packs vary in price between platforms, as the PC versions include physical items which are not available for consoles.
