Anvil Empires highlights its underground cave system, mining updates, and a stability mechanic

Anvil Empires showcases its underground cave system, updated mining features, and stability mechanism

In the lead up to Siege Camp’s soon to be released medieval war MMO, Anvil Empires, dev blog teasers keep emerging. This installment focuses specifically on underground cave systems, stability and mining – discussing character balance rather than the overall game or server.

The article starts off with an exploration of the underworld, an expansion of a topic touched in a prior post, transitioning small caves into a large interconnected network of tunnels generated procedurally. Siege Camp acknowledge the initial similarity pervasive across the system but assure gamers of its evolution with time.

Obviously, exploring these caves has to yield incentives, the compelling one being mining. Mining will be revamped to make full use of the underworld. It’s set to become a group activity with players needed to transport minerals and construct platforms to access elevated iron and coal veins.

The subsequent discuss is on the stability combat mechanic, which determines how much force a character can withstand before staggering and becoming temporarily dazed. Factors like descending slopes, mounted enemy attacks, and weaponry determine stability damage while the option of pushing foes to lower their stability or being pushed by allies to enhance yours will be available.

The update concludes with another sneak peek at fort and keep graphics as developers refine them from a visual perspective. You can read all about it over at the Steam blog post.
