This November, EverQuest 2’s Scars of Destruction Expansion Springs Into Action

The last phase of EverQuest 2’s “Year of Darkpaw” is gaining steam, with the cumulated anticipation for the Scars of Destruction expansion nearing release. Initially revealed during Fippy Fest, the expansion is slated for a November 2024 launch, with pre-orders and beta access available starting October 1st. This will represent the 21st expansion for EverQuest 2, promising a dragon-filled adventure in the newly exposed Dragon Necropolis laden with age-old threats and treasure.

Studio Head Jenn Chan unveiled some enticing details in her most recent producer’s letter: “Norrath has been plagued with perilous forces. Players will venture into what remains of Odus’ coastline and beyond the Western Wastes.” Prepare to confront unending draconic catacombs while eluding bone-devouring pests and increasing enemy forces. Plus, a cunning, arcane antagonist looms, their real identity still unknown.

For the unacquainted, EverQuest 2, since 2004, has been a mainstay in the MMORPG genre. This year’s Year of Darkpaw is loaded with new content and celebration events. From the reprise of Nights of the Dead to the iconic free-to-play MMORPG’s approaching 20th anniversary in November and the Frostfell winter event in December, an abundance of activity awaits fans for the rest of this annual commemoration.
