Fractured Online recently rolled out a significant update which included an eagerly-awaited engine enhancement along with numerous quality-of-life enhancements aimed at ensuring a smoother game play and a more enjoyable user experience.
Farewell to annoying server crashes! According to Dynamight Studios, the primary cause for persistent server crashes was the obsolete engine. By migrating to a Unity 2022.3 engine, the developers are optimistic about both resolving crashes and making room for future performance upgrades.
In addition, the recent game update brought a myriad of “quality of life” improvements. The update allows players to reverse mouse control settings to enable right-click motion and left-click attack- a control setup that feels intuitively familiar to both MOBA and RTS players. Additional features include the ability to turn off quick cursor casting, adjust the brightness of the cursor and display monster names only when hovering over them with the cursor.
Jumping into your reliable mount has become much faster, taking a mere second now compared to the previous four seconds. Players fond of spell-casting will be pleased to know that casting now prioritizes enemies over allies in close range. You can also utilize dynamic combat jumps to access coveted resources nodes without unintentionally attracting nearby mobs.
Feeling uncertain about your XP progress? Worry not, your Knowledge Book now contains an alert that notifies you when attacking a max-knowledge adversary won’t yield any additional XP.
To let everyone experience the new elements of the sandbox MMORPG, Dynamight has extended its one-week free trial once more till September 9th. Those who grabbed the offer when it first launched on August 16th effectively get a month of playtime for free.
Complete patch notes are available to view on the official Fractured Online site.
The substantial Quality of Life refresh which was foreseen is going live tomorrow (Tuesday, Sep. 3) at 10am UTC – and it incorporates an upgrade to Unity 2022!
