New Esports Video Details League Of Legends Worlds Format Changes

The League of Legends World Championship is on the horizon and is set to occur in Berlin, Paris, and London from September 25 to November 2. Worlds 2024, while having similarities to the previous year’s event, features some modifications to the format that followers of the MOBA esport should be aware of. To elaborate, LoL Esports has released a concise three-minute video detailing the procedure of the upcoming event.

The competition is expected to attract 20 teams who will compete in three stages. The first stage, referred to as Play-Ins, will take place from September 25 to September 29. It will be followed by the Swiss stage from October 3 to October 13. The final stage, named Knockout, is scheduled from October 17 to November 2, culminating in the Grand Final and Opening Ceremony on November 2.

An important adjustment has been made in the Swiss stage, which will avoid repeat clashes between the same teams. The initial rounds may have a best-of-one format, but this shifts to a best-of-three in later rounds.

The video provides a breakdown regarding which teams are participating in each stage of the tournament in their journey to the Finals.
