Wildermyth, a Co-op D&D-style game, prepares for console launch with digital and physical editions this fall

May I express my uncontainable excitement for a brief moment? Recently, I found myself enthralled by an indie game called Wildermyth. This game, which came out a few years back, embodies the adventure of tabletop role-playing in a sleek and intuitive interface. Providing an immersive play where actions span decades of in-game time, players can enjoy life-altering decisions, enter into legends, age, start families, retire or even die. The game is captivating and has proven to be one of my entertaining gaming affairs in the decade.

In spite of the company signalling the termination of content creation for the game a while ago, the journey with Wildermyth is not over. Initially available on PC and Mac platforms with functionality for multiplayer gaming, come next October, Wildermyth is expanding its footprint with a special physical edition set for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. It will also be launching a digital release for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch on the same day.

In the words of the press release, “The retail copy lets players delve into the mystical world of Wildermyth: Console Edition with the extensive Monster Compendium, a unique book available in the physical edition while stock lasts. The game is endlessly replayable and offers profound character development as well as creative combat. Players can choose their fate in an epic journey where tactical decision-making shapes their destiny.”
