Previously, Old School RuneScape updated about the delay in publishing the winning results of the Deadman Apocalypse tournament due to uncovered unethical activities that tainted the final outcome. The results have now been released with strict consequences for those who were caught cheating during the competition.
There were severe penalties for 204 accounts, including permanent bans for “different offenses” in the game. On top of that, 500 other accounts had their names changed, making their former names untouchable, as well as certain clan and friend chat names which were shut down and rendered inaccessible.
Jagex has declared the Deadman winners and affirmed their commitment to resist any future malpractice. They also outlined their recent successful initiatives to protect the community, such as the endeavor against “deathmatching” being exploited for RMT.
Other noteworthy OSRS updates include the advent of a new Slayer boss called Araxxor in the game’s weekly update. Araxxor offers an adjustable difficulty level through a unique spider hatching mechanism. Additionally, Jagex has announced a Summer Summit livestream on September 7th which will detail the game’s future content updates.
Moreover, RuneScape has principally adjusted several elements in this week’s patch update, with emphasis on mining and smithing updates, engine bug fixes, and the removal of a particular restriction on creating specific items with Divination. Jagex is also guiding players for the forthcoming Ode of the Devourer quest, scheduled for September 16th by outlining the prerequisite tasks that need to be completed prior.
