Black Desert Teases Seoul Content, Draws Mixed Responses

A new update for the Black Desert Online game was announced today, introducing adventures in Seoul, highlighted in a fresh trailer. The straightforward announcement declared, “Land of the Morning Light – Seoul is arriving shortly” due for release on Thursday, September 12. The trailer offered more insight, disclosing that access to the capital via Namtaeryeong road is now possible. However, the city also holds some dark secrets hinted within the trailer.

The trailer, however, does not comprehensively describe the features of the update. Judging by the feedback on the reveal, gamers expected more details. Most comments indicated dissatisfaction with the expansion of the MMORPG, criticising it for being “empty”, lacking “content”, or perceived as “DOA content”. A reported 20% decrease in the playerbase was also pointed out.

Nevertheless, a group of players are anticipating the new updates, referring to the arrival of new bosses, a new region, a boss rush for 5 players, and new weaponry.
