World of Warcraft devs vow further work on transmog system – including retroactive quest unlocks

World of Warcraft developers promise additional improvements to transmog system, including unlocking past quests.

The ongoing debate, whether the World of Warcraft players are being unnecessarily upset, or if their qualms against Blizzard about the famed transmog system are reasonable, is something that comes to mind upon reading a certain post. This response comes in the shadow of Blizzard’s announced future strategies for transmog, following the comprehensive application of the The War Within’s warband system.

This post particularly criticizes Blizzard for certain oversights; the non-inclusion of appearance unlocks from already completed quests, how they managed weapon arsenals in the Pandaria Remix, the lack of a high probability for transmog drops during the pre-patch event, as well as the inability to learn cosmetics exclusive to certain classes.

Interestingly, Blizzard apparently agrees with some of these criticisms, stating, “We’re on it – aiming to enable all classes to collect the appearance of non-cosmetic class-restricted gear […] We are also actively developing the highly-anticipated update that will guarantee that the appearances of non-cosmetic item rewards from all completed quests are granted, regardless of class-specific eligibility to view or select them. We plan to implement this retrospectively.”
