For those who might be anxious about the future status of Destiny 2 and are concerned it might be discontinued soon, there is no need for immediate worry. This is according to a recent Forbes report. As per the report, Bungie will modify the shooter game’s development cycle to incorporate two main launches yearly. While one launch will resemble previous game expansions which will be smaller in size, the other one will offer fresh, free content for the gamers. However, it remains unclear if the first type of expansion will require payment or not.
On top of this, the report hypothesizes that extra content similar to seasons might also be developed. Included in these are temporary events referred to as “Rallies”, though information on this is quite limited at the moment.
As pointed out in the Forbes article, this change in strategy is understandable since Bungie’s team has significantly shrunk over the past years. It will be simpler for them to manage a smaller development cycle.
