The game Nightingale transitioned into early access half a year ago. However, the game’s progress was not as smooth as projected by Inflexion Games. A recent video released by Inflexion’s CEO Aaryn Flynn, along with Art and Audio Director Neil Thomson highlights their experiences post-launch and future plans for the game. It’s crucial to clarify that it’s not about shutting down the game due to inadequate profits from the early access phase. Instead, they delve into aspects where the game could have done better, elaborate on the modifications they’ve incorporated to fix those areas, like the introduction of an offline mode, and their plans moving forward.
In the past six months, the team has been relentlessly working to tackle various issues of the survival game, including several quality-of-life enhancements such as the incorporation of an offline mode. Now, they are shifting their focus to the game’s future development, involving substantial community feedback, which has greatly helped since the launch. It’s noteworthy that they are currently unhappy with certain aspects of the game, including the user count.
While there wouldn’t be substantial modifications in the procedural generation system and its related tools, they acknowledge that there is room for enhancing them further.
The team is now aiming for a more engaging and adventurous gameplay experience. A part of this initiative involves a more structured game format and clearer progression path. This would allow the gamers to comprehend available actions better. The developers are also aiming to diversify the realms to minimize redundancy.
Another aspect under development is improving the game’s build limits to enable players to construct more comprehensive estates.
These upcoming changes are likely to be integrated in a major update releasing later this summer. As the update date nears, the developers will share sneak peeks of the features it brings.
