The Paragon-based 3rd Person MOBA, Predecessor, Fully Launches on August 20th

The time has come for Omeda Studios to remove the beta tag from their third-person MOBA, namely Predecessor. Even though players got the chance to try the game throughout several testing phases within the last year, it gained momentum when its open beta was released in March. Since then, the game has been played by over 1 million players.

Despite the recent Steam reviews being classified as “Mixed“, the overall assessment of Predecessor on this digital distribution platform is “Mostly Positive”. It appears that a number of players have been abruptly ending games mid-match, an issue that needs addressing promptly.

Although Predecessor began as a project to resurrect Paragon from Epic Games, following the company’s decision to make the UE4 assets available to the community, the game has definitely evolved beyond just being a “revival”. With brand new maps, characters, and even mechanics, Predecessor doesn’t just retain a bit of the original Paragon essence, but enhances it in several ways.

The game’s official launch will showcase over 35 characters that players can use, crossplay support between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, along with shooter-focused gameplay in a MOBA setting. More so, it is interesting to note that as of now, Predecessor is the single MOBA game developed in Unreal Engine 5… at least until SMITE 2 comes out.

Offered free-to-play, Predecessor is now in open beta for all the above-mentioned platforms.
