Splatoon 3 is prepping its sequel-defining Splatfest – but again assigns Eggstra Work

Splatoon 3 is preparing for its sequel-defining Splatfest, but additional tasks are required once again.

In relation to the upcoming two-year anniversary Splatoon 3’s , it brings forth the final Splatfest. Featured in The Grand Festival, three idol groups from all games will participate, each representing different teams: Team Past by Squid Sisters, Team Present by Off the Hook, and Team Future by Deep Cut.

Scheduled in September, the event lasts from Thursday, September 12th, at 8 p.m. EDT until Sunday the 15th at the same hour. Ahead of this, Nintendo revealed other forthcoming events like this weekend’s Eggstra Work and an August Splatfest featuring Bread, Rice, or Pasta. The latter happens from August 9th to 11th, beginning and ending at 8 p.m. EDT, but won’t hold the same anticipation as The Grand Festival.

While it hasn’t been specified by Nintendo that this is the last Splatfest, it might not be the final one, considering other games received sporadic events post their termination. However, it’s known that this event is as significant as each previous Splatoon game’s two-year anniversary.

Previous Splatoon conclusions were impactful. The initial finale, Callie vs. Marie, resulted in the losing squid-sister being the antagonist in Splatoon 2Splat 2’s  conclusion, Chaos vs. Order, had team Chaos, the winner, as the main focus of Splat 3, alongside an expansion that explored the scenario where Order attempted to gain control. Nintendo strategically uses these outcomes to influence the franchise’s future(#TeamFuture4Life), so it’s crucial not to miss out!
