2025’s Sneaky Patch Restores Brawl in Heroes of the Storm

In Heroes of the Storm, Brawl made its comeback to the PTR earlier in January, but it’s now official that Brawl is back in the proper game on Blizzard’s MOBA. This gameplay mode from the good old days, complete with map modifications, special rules and distinctive hero selections, returned in the first clandestine update of 2025.

Not since 2020, when the developers switched it out for the All Random, All Mid (ARAM) format due to it being more popular among players, have we seen Brawl in action.

Although the new update doesn’t clarify exactly which Brawl modes will be available and when, it does mention that they will switch on the 1st and 15th of every month. The update not only recirculates Brawl but also brings in new shop elements and packages, a refreshed home screen, and startup music.
