Wargaming, the developer of World of Tanks and World of Warships, made an exciting announcement at The Game Awards today. If “Wargaming develops a mech hero shooter” was on your 2024 Bingo card, then you’ve scored the win.
Yes, Wargaming’s latest free-to-play game is Steel Hunters, a fresh IP. Players will pilot mechs called “Hunters” in combat, aim to accomplish various targets, level up and acquire gear. Just like any hero shooter, each mech possesses unique ability kits and playstyles, enabling players and teams to select what suits them best.
At present, Steel Hunters is welcoming memberships for a 10-day closed playtest, ongoing from now until December 22. If interested, you can register at the Steel Hunters website. The game can also be wishlist on Steam.
